I just finished the Operation Luna series and its various iterations.
Terrific stuff!

Are there any more similar type shows--not necessarily sci-fi--that are episodic like those shows?

Neither Operation Luna and Red Planet were "old time radio" shows. They appeared as novels (or movies) much after the end of "the golden age of radio":
