I am unsure but believe it was a "Suspense" episode. A man told his wife that he had broken up with his girlfriend because he wanted it to work with his wife and that the gf had attacked him He said he killed her in self-defense but feared cops wouldn't believe him. So he asked his wife to imitate his girlfriend over the phone.

It turned out the girlfriend was alive and the husband had deliberately put the wife in danger.
