Famous Weekly Old-Time Radio Shows
Suspense, often narrated by "the man in black" (Joseph Kearns or Ted Osborne), was broadcast on CBS between 1942 and 1962 (except for the 1960-61 season, during which it was off the air). Usually the show was presented on a weeknight (Tues or Thurs) at 8:00 PM or later, but its 1956-1960 schedule was Sunday, at 4:30 or 5:30 PM. These two 1-minute soundclips are from an August, 1943 broadcast in the US, and a rebroadcast of a different program to the Armed Forces Radio Service. The first was narrated by "The man in black", and the second by a different announcer. Which is more impressive?
