Famous Weekly Old-Time Radio Shows
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes was first heard in the US in 1930 on NBC Red. The show continued on NBC, Mutual and ABC almost every year through 1956. The 1960s NPR series was broadcast on the BBC. Although there were several actors who played Sherlock and Dr. Watson, most people remember the performances of Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce:
