Famous Weekly Old-Time Radio Shows
Smilin' Ed McConnell hosted the Buster Brown Show between 1929 and 1953. The show evolved into 15 minute to 30 minute story-telling episodes. Jerry Marin played the part of Buster Brown (who lived in a shoe), and Bud Tollefson played the dog, "Tige" (he lived in a shoe, too). The memorable character, "Froggie the Gremlin" ("Plunk yer magic twanger, Froggie") was played by Ed McConnell. This 42-second Buster Brown Soundclip is of a typical opening to the show.
