RADIO PERSONALITIES OF THE THIRTIES

Postby NYCENTRAL » Thu Feb 09, 2006 1:29 pm

I am looking for information on the following acts:
The Missouri Melody Makers (Jack Long / Beverly Long / Jack Grishaw) who were heard on KGBX & KWTO in the Springfield MO area. Jimmy Long, of Springfield, was Jack and Beverly's father. He is the same Jimmy Long who recorded with Gene Autry and Cliff Keiser.

also

Gene Autry has been referred to as Oklahoma's Yodeling Cowboy and is claimed to have worked under that title while at KVOO. I cannot find any documentation for that title for
Gene while there but did find him referred to as the "singer of popular songs" by a reporter in a magazine article.

Can anyone verify, with documents, either case?
