"We The People" Radio Program, October 21st, 1937

My Grandmother, Lana Chrismon, Osceola, N.C. appeared on the "We The People" radio program on Oct. 21st, 1937 (I believe it was in Chicago).
She was hailed as the "Rolling Pin Champion of the World" on the program and was given a wooden rolling pin on that date with many signatures - among them Nathan R. Hoffman, Phillip H. Lord, Leonard L. Bass, Robert M. Reuschle ("Robo"), etc. This is a treasured family heirloom.
Are there any archieves that may contain this radio program from Oct. 21, 1937 which may have preserved my Grandmothers interview for geneological purposes?
Many Thanks, T. Spencer

Hello,

Saw your post about your grandmother being on the "We The People" radio program back in 1937.
1937 was the year this show began, unfortunatley there appears to be only one surviving broadcast
from that year, and it is not the Oct 21st broadcast.

Regards,

Dan Riedstra

Dear Dan,
Thank you for the reply. At least I won't be seeking something that does not exist. I still have my Grandmother's rolling pin and a local newpaper article that relates some of the details. Again, Thank you. Tom Spencer

Hi Dan,

I am so excited to have found this website. I have a similar question. My grandfather, Joseph E. Fitzgerald from Chicago, was a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy during WWII and in the 40s was granted a short leave to come stateside. During this time he was actually featured and interviewed on We The People and my family has been wanting to track down the recording for years. Do you have any suggestions for me on how to go about doing that?

Thank you!!
Catherine

Dan,
You are incorrect. The first show was October 4, 1936.
