I have a 12" AFRS disc labeled "Radio Novels" with a 25 minute drama, "Harbor Pilot." The pressing seems to be from the late 1960s, but the show is probably canabalized from something done earlier. Unfortunately, the cast members are not identified.
But I'm curious if anyone recognizes this play and can identify its source.
The story is about a tug boat pilot who believes he is being assigned to an ocean liner, but it turns out he is instead piloting a garbage skow.

"Radio Novels" like many AFRS shows was a re-packaging of other programs. For example "Mystery Theatre" aired old shows from "Mr. & Mrs. North", "The Abbotts", etc.
I've not familiar with the particular episode you've found. It's one of 39 such programs in the "Radio Novels" series that are in trading currency.
