One of the best books on OTR, both in scope and depth. Dunning writes well, though he contaminates some summaries with political commentary (always a turn off for OTR fans, who usually prefer thinking for themselves), but despite this one shortcoming, an overall enjoyable book. It was out of print and quite expensive for years, but was finally reprinted... and is STILL expensive! However it remains, along with THE WITCHES TALE and TERROR ON THE AIR, one of my three favorite OTR books. Very thick, very heavy, no photos, but always fun to browse.
