The Guiding Light

I found the book both well written and informative. The chapters are divided into the diaries, if you will of the main characters on the story at that time (1938) The book is written by the "Reverend" John Ruthledge, who's desk lamp was placed in the window every night to be the Guiding Light of the community whatever their faith or religious belief. Replete with black and white photos of principal cast members, this small novel was obviously written for those listeners eager to flesh out the lives of their serial friends. It definitely lived up to their expectations! I'm only sorry it was written so early in the series run. I would have enjoyed reading the inside details of the Bauer family during the 1940's.
