The past year a local lady who has been a friend of the family for many years, just the two of us.. together we have had fun producing and acting in local plays.., so we decided to have some fun and put together a 30 minute "live" OTR re-broadcast re-creation program for local clubs and organizations, and who-ever wanted us! Believe-me, we were sensational! Making the newspapers with large color photos taken while we were "broadcasting"... as we did our thing. Have any of you tried this? The High Schools, the Rotary Clubs, Church groups, etc. and without asking..many times we also were paid a "small fee"...and including the usual dinner or lunch. Also suprise valuable Gifts....such as certificates from one club that gave us certificates for dinner for two...(she got one and I also-total 4 dinners) at a very expensive restaurant,Other wonderful gifts, etc.for appearing and doing our thing.And.... There were many comments from those that remembered OTR so fondly ....Remember... Just two of you can do this...do simple sound effects and no music! Keep it simple- but fast moving..., comedy is best...If you haven't done this, try it. Your local clubs and organizations are always looking for entertainment--you will become a famous local "star"..and you will really enjoy it! And believe me, so will everyone else! We were kept Very Busy with all of the Invitations! All that we could handle..just having OTR fun! ....If you want details, just send me an e-mail.

See Jack French's description of OTR sound effects at this site. Also see the local OTR Bibliography for books on sound effects. See the OTR FAQ for places to get scripts.

The FAQ is your friend. Read it!

I produce and direct local OTR and have amassed nearly everything I need to physically recreate (as opposed to recorded) sound effects. I even own the original Lone Ranger sfx door.

Lemme know if I can help.
