Has anyone heard any reason why announcer Ken Carpenter was on half the network radio shows in the 40s and 50s, but never (to my knowledge) on TV?

I'll hazard a guess & it may not be the reason at all! I saw Ken Carpenter in an old Bing Crosby movie playing a radio announcer. He, er, has a face and body for radio. However there is no reason I can think of why his great voice wouldn't have been used for the off-camera announcer! Beats me! BTW, Charley O'Donnel (spelling?)STILL is the off-camera announcer for that Vanna White spin-the-letters prime time TV show. So age certainly has nothing to do with it! Ha! I recall Charley as the sometimes on-camera announcer when Dick Clark had his live ABC "American B
