Hi,
Can anyone confirm where the Mercury Theater was recorded? I believe Welles recorded his 7 part Les Miserables (which predated the Mercury Theater) at Liederkranz Hall in New York, but was this the same place that the Mercury was recorded at? Regards John |

| I was fortunate enough to be in the big old main CBS studio years ago. They had the SAME CONTROL ROOM CONSOLE with some modifications used to do the Mercury Theater and other such productions. These were still analog days. So the console looked pretty much the same. VU meters were updated and the unseen electronic were as well, of course. That old console recorded many a pop tune. About the only noticeable physical changes in the big studio were the isolation booths for singers on th |
