East and West Coast Feeds

I know that back in the 30's and 40's radio programs were required to do two separate live broadcasts, one for the East coast and later another one for the West coast.
I just got through listening to the East coast and then the West coast feeds for the Jack Benny Program from December 17, 1939. You can detect little differences in the two broadcasts. For example, Jack flubs a line in the West coast broadcast.
What feed did the Mountain Time Zone get? I'm guessing it was the the West coast feed.
It had to be possible, if you lived in the middle of the country, to pick up both feeds of these programs at their respective times.
I know that here in Michigan, even with just casual scanning of the dial, we were able to pick up KSL in Salt lake City and KOA in Denver both in the Mountain Zone but I don't remember ever hearing any West coast feeds.

I'm actually guessing that the Mountain Time Zone got the East coast feed because an 8pm show (ET) would air at 6pm (MT) and so on. The other reason that I am guessing this is because in the 1960s and 70s I both visited and at times lived with my relatives in Idaho and at that time shows on "that other medium" (TV) would be aired "live" right off the east coast feed rather than delayed, thus making prime time from 6pm to 9pm. The 9pm hour was filled with lo
