| I am a teenager and OTR collecting is a hobby but I would like to discuss more about them with people since not many of my friends seem interested. I enjoy talking to any people about OTR but I was wondering if anyone knows anywebsites or clubs or chats dedicated to teenagers who are OTR fans. I would like to talk to ANY OTR fans of ANY age, but I'd also like to see what other teens think about OTR. So any teen fans please reply or anyone who knows websites or clubs thanks very much! |

Hi there once again!! You should check the web site you are on to see if the chat line index may have some teen-agers or post teenager-ager collectors on it. Now, I don't know too much of my fellow collectors and when they started, but my love of O.T.R. pretty much started when I was 10 years old in 1970. Now 2300 plus shows are not a lot for 33 years, but my collection as I have it now did not start until March of '84. I average roughly 230 programs a year. Also you ask about clubs-check these clubs out online (now many have a small fee to join:)
RADIO ENTHUSIASTS OF PUDGET SOUND (Seattle) RADIO HISTORICAL ASSN. OF COLORADO (Denver) OLD-TIME RADIOSHOW COLLECTORS ASSN-(Belprie. ohio) and many others at their sites. |

Depending on your area there are several OTR Clubs and recreationists of OTR:
Examples of OTR and Radio Clubs: MWOTR - Metropolitian Washington, DC Old Time Radio Club
Also some of my favorite websites that deal with both old and new time radio show offerings are www.yesterdayusa.com and www.xmradio.com
Also check out XM Satellite Radio - It is well worth the investment of equipment and subscription: Channel 131/(BBC Worldservice www.bbcworldservice.co.uk features drama serial and radio plays - Wed/Fri 9:30pm (EST) "Westway" and Sat 6:00pm "Play of the Week") Channel 163 (Sonic Theater - New time radio plays from the BBC/CBC/LA-Radio Theater/Imagination Theater) and Channel 164 (Classic OTR Programs) K |
