| Hello all...I am *seriously* trying to find radio station surveys (charts), listing the top songs played or featured on radio stations, before 1960. I have some from the later 50s, but will unanimously need anything, period, before 1955-6 era! Does anybody have anything like this? Even a local radio "top ten" printed in a newspaper would be of interest to me...in fact I probably seek these most of all. I will gladly trade liberally, or buy, any such chart that I need. Please contact me if you even have just one of these. I collect globally, with 1950's charts from New Orleans, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Portland OR and Ann Arbor being among my most sought of all. I have a lot of charts to trade (though few 50s, but lotsa 60s). I have been told that newspapers often ran local radio Top Tens weekly "after the war" but I have never been able to find one before 1955 that way. I do *not* seek any audio or programs, only the actual "top tunes" listings that the radio stations made. Thank you!! |

This isn't exactly what you're looking for but this web site might be of interest - <http://nfo.net/hits/index.html>.
At the bottom of the page a book is mentioned that you might be able to find somewhere. Several years ago I came across a book in our local library that listed all the songs that had made it to the Hit Parade radio and TV programs. I can't remember the name of it and have never been able to find it since. |

| Try searching EBay by radio call letters that will yield some radio station surveys...and you can copy and paste to your files. |
