I posted this message in the Quiz show BBS, but not sure if everybody saw it. I am looking for a recording of a Truth or Consequence show from 1947 (I think). This show had silent film star Clara Bow as the guest, Miss Hush.
It appears to me that this show ran for a few weeks with Miss Hush (I'm not sure, maybe someone can clear this up for me). I don't even know if there were other Miss Hush's, I couldn't really find anything definitive. If you have a copy or know where I can get one, or know how I may better my search, please email me at johnny739@hotmail.com. I can't find it anywhere.. hopefully it exists. I've heard snips of it in a biography that I saw on her. Thanks! Jeff

Dear Johnny, I know of only one episode of Truth OR Consequences that has "Miss Hush Contest" on it. It was a xmas show of Dec. 20, 1947.Go to Google and type in OTRNOW. Its on MP3. Its under Quiz Shows-01. It has many Quizz shows on it, including 3 different Truth OR Consequences which are from 1945, 1947 (Miss Hush Contest), and 1949.Also OTRCAT has some on GAME SHOWS.
There is an article titled, ThE GREAT RADIO GIVEAWAY DISASTER by James J. Yellen. He says "Miss Hush" was dancer, Martha Graham. He's at www.angelfire.com/nj/vanduyne/giveaway.htm. Good Luck, and let me know how it turns out. it has many Quizz shows on it |

According to "The Trivia Encyclopedia" by Fred L. Worth, Miss Hush was, indeed, Clara Bow. But no broadcast dates are given. The contest ran over a period of several weeks, with more clues given each broadcast.
In addition to Miss Hush, there were other contests, such as Mr. Hush, Papa and Mama Hush, and The Walking Man.

| It was really ironic because I read that TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES was conceived as being a parody on give away shows and became the biggest give away show ever for it's time. |
