| Does anyone have any information on a show called THE JEWISH HOUR? The ones I have are from late 1936 and early 1937. They come from WCNY in Brooklyn, NY. They are one hour in length and are entirely in Yiddish (I am guessing here - it is a language I don't know and I am assuming it is Yiddish). |

There were lots of stations that had "Jewish Hour" broadcasts during that period. The one's you refer to are actually WCNW not WCNY. The WCNW was the station in Brooklyn at that time.
During that time there were a number of "ethnic" radio stations broadcasting out of Brooklyn including WLTH, WBBC, WEVD (the Eugene V. Debbs station), and others. These stations were trying to appeal to specific markets, in this case the Jewish population of Brooklyn. Yiddish radio had a lot of program variety and the "Jewish Hour" was one of them. I believe the programs you have are the same one's that Dave Goldin lists on his web site. He gives more details as to the content, so you can look at that at his web page (see link below).
