Lorraine Pankow Kittinger, 93, passed away Nov. 28, 2002 in Amherst, NY (a suburb of Buffalo). She performed many stage roles in the Western New York Area and in the 1930's was heard on radio locally and in New York City, where her best-known character was the mother of Jack Armstrong, the All-American Boy.

....and Lorraine is well known to fans of "Bobby Benson", as she played Aunt Lily in the first year of that juvenile western, which was broadcast from Buffalo. She was married to the creator and director of that series, Herbert Rice, although they divorced and later both married other spouses.

None of the usual OTR references mention Jack Armstrong's parents. His guardian, Uncle Jim, appears to be his sole relative.
