Back in the 1950s there was a female singer named Georgia Gibbs. One of her hit tunes was "Seven Lonely Days". When DJs did an intro to her recordings they oft came on with "now heres a tune by her nibbs, Miss Georgia Gibbs".
I have heard others, both male and female, called her nibbs or his nibbs. I'm not sure if it is Nibbs or Nibs. Does anybody out there in Radioland know what Nibs/Nibbs stands for? I don't know if it means special or royalty but I'd sure like to know. Thanks! |
