| I was listening to an Eddie Cantor show last night from the late 1930s, in which he had some music and dialog with his son, Bobby. What a talented little guy! Not only as a singer, but in his comedy delivery. What ever happened to him? Why didn't he make an impact on show biz like Eddie's other child singer discovery, Dianna Durbin? |

| I think the Bobby you heard was Bobby Breen, but he wasn't Cantor's son. (Eddie's offspring were all girls, a longtime running gag on his series.) Breen enjoyed a brief burst of popularity in the late 1930s as a recording artist and the star of a handful of musical films at RKO. His career didn't survive adolescence, though. |
