Does anybody remember Red Blanchard from the 1950's..with his classic overnight shows from Los Angeles and San Francisco....KNX..and wherever else?

As a kid he cracked me up with his "GrandMa's Lye Soap" bit.

Is Red Blanchard still alive? Is there an on-line bio available? An "aircheck"? When did he last broadcast?

Maybe Jim Hawthorne would know. Do you Los Angelenos remember "Hawthorne"? I understand he later migrated to Colorado...after his creative "color radio" days at KFWB...Channel 98..Channel 98.

Red Blanchard has his own web site, complete with air checks. Did you know Jimmy Drake composed and performed his theme song? Jimmy later went by the name "Nervous Norvus." Hear this theme in its entirety, on line. I don't remember the name of the web site, but try a search of www.google.com and see what comes up.

Hawthorne also is alive and well, and has his own web site. Again, try Google to find it.
