Hi,

Has anybody read or know about either of these two old time radio books? One is called "The Directory of Armed Forces Radio Service Series" and the other one is called "Command Performance, USA!" Both are written by the same man, Harry MacKenzie. Someone has offered to sell me either or both of these books (used copies), but before I bought them I wanted to know if anybody here knew anything about them and what they thought of them. I've searched on the internet but have only found very basic information about them.

Thanks folks Brandon

I do know that for both of these subject areas, these are probably the best books available. However, I have been told by someone else (I haven't seen them available) that the Command Performance book contains a number of errors.

MacKenzie actually lives overseas and how he handled his research I am not sure. I know his focus have been on government based program series as he has been working on another book for quite a few years but has never published it.

If you decide not to get the Command Performance book, let me know. Though it contains errors, I might be interested.
