Hi! I was wondering if anybody might be able to help me with an old radio question. I got several tapes of an AFRS show called MYSTERY PLAYHOUSE. I'm kind of puzzled about it, because all the shows seem to be taken from series like INNER SANCTUM, THE WHISTLER, and MOLLE MYSTERY THEATRE. They just have the MYSTERY PLAYHOUSE opening and closing and host segments dubbed on. Why would the AFRS air these shows in a format like this? Why not just run INNER SANCTUM or THE WHISTLER under their own names instead of under the MYSTERY PLAYHOUSE banner? Also, does anybody know how long AFRS kept using the MYSTERY PLAYHOUSE format before they finally dropped it and started to run these shows under their own name?

Sorry for all the questions. I'm kinda new to old radio.

Thanks!
