Mr Moore was the TV "Lone Ranger", but was NOT the Radio Lone Ranger. Brace Beemer was the most recent OTR star who played the role on the radio. (Earle Graser, Jack Deeds and George Stenius playing the part before April, 1941)

| Unfortunately, The Washington Post did not check with Lou (or me) before they ran a lenghty obituary on Moore. They also (incorrectly) credited him with the radio role, but when they did discuss the WXYZ radio show in detail, only " George Seaton" gets a credit, and the mainstays (Graser and Beemer) are not even listed. |

Well, at least the AP (Associated Press) got it right and made it quite clear that Moore was only in the TV version on ABC-TV from 1949-'52 and from '54-'57, and forever in re-runs...
But even in his off-screen life, Clayton Moore lived the life of the Lone Ranger and stood for the ideals that the character stood for, both on radio and TV. |

| In early 1984 I met Mr. Moore going through an airport in northeast Tennessee. He took time out of his demanding schedule to talk to a friend and I for 15 minutes. He gave us a "silver bullet" and an autographed photograph. You are right, he stood for the ideals of The Lone Ranger in his life. He was and is The Lone Ranger. |
