| Can someone please give me the name of the theme song of the "Charlie McCarthy Show" (that's what I was listening to last night rather than the "Edgar Bergen etc.). As I recall there was only one theme during the run..almost like a march (as Ray Noble might play a march). Thanx. Edwin |

The theme is actually an old Civil War era melody, a psuedo-spiritual, called "Year of Jubilo." Probably a minstrel show novelty song. (Tennessee Ernie put new words to it in the late 1950s with his record, "Sunday Barbecue.")
I researched the Internet last year for this tidbit of information, but found no leads. Finally I asked a local fiddle player who specializes in early American folk music. She knew it instantly.
