| I've just finished a good book by John Dunning called: "Two O'Clock, Eastern Wartime". It's set during World War II in the summer of 1942 at radio station WHAR in Regina Beach, New Jersey. It's a murder mystery and the main characters all work at the radio station. A lot of the story deals with the day to day operations of WHAR and should be of interest to OTR fans. If you can't find it at a book store it should be at your local library. A lot of you may be familiar with John Dunning. According to the book's inside back cover, he's the author of "On the Air: The Encyclopedia of Old-Time Radio" and is considered an expert on American radio history. He was also the host of a Denver radio show:"Old Time Radio" and has a personal collection of 40,000 recordings. |

| Our town had an early AM radio station that carried Mutual Network programs, including the many personal favorite kid-adventures I listened to after school, along with those many other OTR classics. AND the local Sports coverage was the best..(got me wanting to do what I do now, sports play-by-play locally.) The long time call letters --truly....WHAR....! |
