Have been somewhat out of touch over the holidays. Did anyone besides me see the PBS presentation of "Merry Christmas George Bailey"? Any comments?

Yes, I liked it very much...It was taped in 1997, so this was the 3rd year that it's been shown on Christmas Day over PBS...I believe I heard them announce that it was from the original Lux Radio Theater script adapted from the motion picture, "It's a Wonderful Life"....It was very well done with some fine adult and child actors and was nice to see the live sound effects man and orchestra.

Actors such as Nathan Lane, Jerry Van Dyke, Martin Landau and several others did a great job with the radio script and the audience in the theater seemed to enjoy it. Was taped somewhere around L.A., Pasadena Playhouse possibly, but I'm not sure...Saw it in the credits, but have forgotten now.

They also ran a great article about the PBS broadcast in USA daily newspaper which I saved. Yes indeed, wouldn't "live" broadcasts of a "new LUX Theatre" type of show be great with big stars doing the latest movies just like they did this one, but have it also broadcast" live" on PBS
