I have been listening to several Mr. Keen Old Radio Program Tapes--was this radio program considered to be "factual" for the era---1940's & 1950's--or slightly "campy"----it was a very good series---the theme, Noel Coward's "Someday I'll Find You", is alone worth listening to! It, along with "The Shadow" and "Broadway Is My Beat", are the favorites in my ever-growing collection.

Bob & Ray did a satire on the show, calling it "Mr. Trace, Keener than most persons." :) In the satire, Mr. Trace was on the crime scene investigating the murder of a college girl. "What a fine student body," Mr. Trace kept saying.

It was fictional...and your so right.."Broadways my Beat" was one of mine too....I listen to many of them with my Pop at supper time on the Radio...I still can repeat at my age word for word of Mr. District Attorney....with Jay Josten in the Title Roll, Len Doyle as Harrington...and Vickie Bola as Ms Miller..., as well as many more..
