| Everytime I play that 12/39 "rehearsal" BOB HOPE "Toy Factory"Christmas Show- , I break out with laughter...!No--I burst out..with laughter..! Gotta be My Favorite OTR comedy tape of all time....to listen and think that show was written 60- years ago..is tremendous! It sounds as if it was written today and would be a riot on radio or television sit-com today.. That was "live"classic Ole Time Radio stuff as we knew it! The audience, the cast, perhaps the Holiday Spirit? Indeed a magic moment for OTR... (Have you listened to it lately?) And... WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE Holiday Program???--and to you and yours..".MERRY CHRISTMAS!" |

Lionel Barrymore's "Scrooge" bit was always good. The Lum and Abner one where they gather food and clothing for the couple in the abandoned barn, is a classic. k.a. |

| Lamont Cranston,hahaha-what a great board name! Yep, you are right! The two shows you mention also are my favorites, & there are other those holiday OTR shows too, but the comedy Hope show "rehearsal"... makes me laugh every time I play it for myself! I do not have the actual broadcast show, does anyone?--"Seasons Greetings!" |

According to JH logs, the Bob Hope rehearsal was recorded on 12/10 for the 12/12 Broadcast. I have not had the opportunity to hear the show. but looging forward to it!
My favorites tend to be Jack Benny shopping shows. And the various rewrites of "A Christmas Carol", i.e. Six Shooter. And 12/23/41 Burns and Allen with Edna Mae Oliver had some great bits. |
