| I too would like to know where I could get photos of OTR stars from the "golden age". I have collected some from flea markets and antique shops. I have a room dedicated to OTR. In It I have my thousands of cassettes on shelves, my computer, etc. However, on the walls I have 11 framed pictures of stars from this era. I have lots of room for more. Is there a concentrated source for these photos? |

The Radio Spirits Old Time Radio catalogue from www.mediabay.com has LOTS of photos of OTR radio stars, some of which I have NEVER seen before. For instance, it has a photo of Bob Bailey, the star of YOURS TRULY JOHNNY DOLLAR. And Lum and Abner, who look nothing like they sound! Les Damon -- THE FALCON. And you have to really squint for the tiny phoots that these are in the catalogue, but there's a photo of the radio stars who did GUNSMOKE! But then we've all seen William Conrad on TV. And Parely Baer was a character actor. And Howard McNeer was Floyd the Barber on the ANDY GRIFFITH TV SHOW.
So, you should call 1-800-723-4648 for a free catalogue for the photos anyway. Again, they are tiny photos. But lots of the old radio stars that I had never seen a photo of before are in there! As far as photos of the very well known stars, there are TONS of books with photos of them. Like Jack Benny, Rochester, Phil Harris, etal. Jim Stokes |

| You can view hundreds of great OTR photos -- actors, announcers, disc jockeys, musicians, etc. -- at the University of Maryland web site: www.lib.umd.edu/LAB/photos.html< |
