Does anyone remember a funny quiz show called "It Pays to be Ignorant"? It had a regular cast of characters and I believe they gave fractured answers to questions that people sent it. Are any tapes of this show still available?

That was a really great show. Danged if I know where you can get tapes. Let me recall the characters on the show. I may be wrong, but I'll take a stab at it. Harry Hirschfield and Morrie Amsterdam are two. I'm not sure about Morrie Amsterdam.

LuLu Mc Connell was also a panelist. There are tapes available as I've heard the program on a local OTR show that is broadcast weekly here in Illinois.

I recall Harry being on another (but similar) program called "Can You Top This", where the panelists told jokes on the same subject to try to get the highest score on the Laughmeter.

Besides Hirschfield, the regulars included Senator Ford and Joe Lorie Jr on a panel conducted by Peter Donald.

The "Quizmaster" was Tom Howard. The pseudo-panelists were Lulu McConnell ("What's your first name, honey ?"), George Shelton ("I used to woik in that town") and Harry McNaughton. the quintessential Englis butler type. This, to my mind, was one of the very best "silly" shows on the air, and usually degenerated into complete chaos before a question was "answered."
