In the 40's Elgin Watches sponsor a 2-hour Thanksgiving Day Special and a Christmas Day Special.
I recently heard the 11-25-1948 Thanksgiving day special with Don Ameche, Ken Carpenter, Garry Moore, Jimmy Durante, Jack Benny, Red Skelton, Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, and the Mills Brothers. Does anyone know what year these specials started and when they ended? I think Ameche had said this was the 7th year for the Elgin Thanksgiving Day Special. Thanks! |
