I'm currently doing research about Jackie Gleason and came across a tape of him on a show called "Double Feature." The material that I have is from 1944. Les Tremayne is one of the featured players, along with Gleason.
Can anyone tell me what this show was? Was Gleason a regular player? I need as much information as I can get regarding this material. Thanks so much. -Leona

Leona -
Double Feature was a short - lived radio show that was heard between July and October of 1944, on NBC (Sundays at 10:30pm) Jackie Gleason and Les Tremayne were on the show from August 13th, 1944 to its close date. The show reappeared on the Mutual Network in June, 1946; but lasted only three months. I don't have info on who appeared in those episodes. About 12 shows are available from collectors, all apparently of the 1944 series. |
