Do any of the "listers" recall the AM frequency for Radio Station KPOL in Los Angeles during the Fifties and Sixties?

| I used to listen to KPOL -- a "beautiful music" station. I don't remember the frequency, but it was on this station I heard a great real, live blooper! "Try this sauce on ice cream, puddings, and other infections. (silence) uhh... I mean, CONfections!" It wouldn't have been nearly as funny on a wild DJ type show, but the suit-and-tie image of KPOL made the slip-up all the more incongruous! |

Wayne at the National Radio Club informs me that the frequency in 1976 was 1540 KHz. The current call in LA on 1540 KHz is KMPC. I will send you more details on the NRC by direct e-mail. Nate |
