| I have recently been listening to several 1949 shows of the Great Gildersleeve during which a contest is touted to give a title to a lovesong written and sung by Throckmorton. Does anyone know the winning title? A six inch disc of the song was being offered for a boxtop and $.25. What a great souvenir of the show. Wonder if any still exist. |

I am always amazed at the items for sale at the Newark, NJ -"Friends of Old Time Radio" Convention. I believe they will be holding their convention next month.
While attending past "Friends" conventions I was able to purchase several photos of Harold Peary, a Captain Midnight Decoder, autographs of William Bendix, Frank Lovejoy and Frank Nelson, Old and New Time Radio shows and several Radio Guide magazines from the 1930s and 40s. It is always a great convention and every time I have attended has been better than the last time. Hope this helps. |

| I forget the name of the song but, have the program it's announced on...I'll have to play it again and post the name for you...May be after Christmas before I can....The little promo record of the song was a 45rpm and, occasionally you'll see one for sale on E-bay---under "Gildersleeve" Good Luck! |

| The name of the song was "Tug Of My Heart." It is given (told) near the very end of show #349, "Bronco Bows Out." I believe the date was 12-07-49....I think they intended to reveal it on the previous show when, they announced the name of the grand prize winner but, either overlooked doing it or, time didn't p |
