:: What years was the "McElhatton In The Morning" show on KCBS?
:: His partner on the show was "Friendly Clyde" (What was his real name?) who sang & played piano. The show featured humor, news traffic reports, unusual news items & more.
: Clyde would occasionally sing parodies based on different tunes of past & present: two I remember were ... "Out Of Limits On The Nimitz" (referring to the Bay Area Freeway of that name), and "The Ballad Of Jazzy May Fritcher"
:
::When the show began, Dave & Clyde would sing the theme song with Clyde featured on Piano. The tune started ...
:
: "McElhatton In The Morning, McElhatton and his staff
:While the coffee's hot within the cup we'll start off your day with a laugh."
:
: I don't remember what time the show began--it ran Monday Thru Friday--but it ended at 10AM, & was followed by "The Arthur Godfrey Show"

Is there a reason you are asking questions multiple times in this BBS?

Is there a reason you don't leave your email address for possible personal answers?

Your bet, CZ would be to contact KCBS in San Francisco or a radio columnist for either the Chronicle or Examiner.

Now here is a message for all those (especially newcomers) who are trying to find out data about local shows, such as morning DJ shows etc. (this may be a good subject for a slighly expanded listing in the FAQ's-- questions 6 or 18--, and I apologize if it's there and I just didn't see it)

This BBS deals with mostly NETWORK or syndicated (that is, nationally broadcast shows) or local shows like John Gambling of WOR or Bob (Hogan's Heroes) Crane of KNX which have somehow aquired a national following/remembrance.

I have seen questions here before that go something like..."my dad remembers a local kid show on W??? or K??? somewhere around 50 years ago" or "I remember a DJ from the fifties on W???...etc.) Your best bet for local shows is to contact someone in that town that also remembers the show in question,or the station, or the local paper, rather than waste time and BBS space posting it in front of people like us who probably never heard of the show.
