I'm looking for the radio station where long-time radio and TV personality Smilin' Ed McConnell began his career in broadcasting.
Reference books and websites I've searched seem to agree that McConnell first went on the air in 1922, but does anybody know the radio station and city where he was first heard on the air? Thanks in advance, for any help you can give me. Jim |

| Thomas DeLong, in his 1996 book, "Radio Stars" states that vaudevillian McConnell began on radio in 1922, entertaining with his banjo at the mike for WSB, Atlanta. |
