I have found out that “Junior Bird Man” may be an advertising jingle from the 1940’s. Junior Bird Man [Tune: On Brave Old Army Team]
Up in the air Junior Bird Man. Up in the air and upside-down. Up in the air Junior Bird Man With your nose to the ground. And when you hear the grand announcement That your wings are made of tin. Then you will know the Junior Bird Man Have sent his box-tops in. 'Cause it takes: Five box tops Four bottle bottoms Three wrappers Two labels And one thin dime.

Brenda, That is really cool to know. I am in my early 30's and I remember my grandpa teaching me that jingle. He used his hands to make goggles while he would sing.
Thanks for the info. Laura Thorhauer, Grand Rapids, MI |

Brenda, Laura,
I learned that little tune in grade school myself. I'm in my mid-50's now and just discovered that (ouch!)I can't get both my hands into the 'jr burdmen' goggles position any more! Thanks for the memories (and the sore left forearm). Al Andre Orlando, Fl |
