Could someone please provide me with a specific date? I am looking for a Jack Benny Show with Fred Allen as a guest that dates (I think) from the early 50s. The plot of the show is: Jack is waiting for Fred to show up for rehearsal, and sends Rochester out to find him. Jack remembers his version of how they meet back in vaudeville, where Jack is the star and Fred steals his idea for a radio show.
Rochester eventually finds Fred in a restaurant and drags him to the studio. During this time, Fred presents his version of how things happen and claims Jack stole his idea. It ends with Fred refusing to go on Jack's show and sells maps to the stars' homes instead. I have only heard clips of this show and can't find an exact date for when it aired. The quality is always pretty bad, but I am very sure that the show dates from the 50s. If anybody could tell me when the show aired, I'll know what to look for. Thanks in advance. George |
