Joe:
Go to your Public Library OR Public Library in a larger city close to you and ask if they have old newspapers on microfilm. Our Public Library in Madison has not only the two Madison newspapers (back to 1852 and 1917) on microfilm but also newspapers like the New York Times (back to 1935). You can also inquire at a local university. If you live in or near your state historical society you might find they keep old newspapers on microfilm. The state historical society in Madison, Wisconsin has one of the largest repositories of old newspapers in the United States on microfilm. Incidently most microfilm viewers have the capability of printing out areas being viewed (for a nominal fee like a dime or quarter) and so you can capture all the old newspaper radio listings on paper without having to take your pencil along to do the job. - |
