Walter, who got his start in 1930 on radio's "Children's Hour", quickly became a busy child actor in radio. Actually, he and his parents (thanks to his small size and boyish voice) passed him off on radio as a youngster of 10, which he was not. He was born in 1915 and had a successful career in vaudeville from the 20s. His parents subtracted from 5 to 8 years from his age, and marketed him very successfully as a child actor. After achieving fame on radio, he went to Hollywood in 1938 (by then he was 23, but passing for 15) but was confined to a series of small roles in mediocre movies, usually playing bellhops, messengers, and office boys. So network radio would continue to be his primary source of income for the next two decades. Tetley died in Sept 1975 at the age of 60.

Don't know if its true but... He also appeared frequently on Jay Ward's other shows and was occasionally heard on Stan Freberg's commercials. Early on, he was known as "Wee Sir Harry Lauder" f
