I would like to purchase a recording of the Walter Winchell radio program for September 3, 1939. Does anyone know a source? If I can't purchase a copy, I would still like to listen to it. Thank you very much. Gita g.belmont@worldnet.att.net

I don't know if this specific show is available, but I understand the National Archives has a considerable collection of Winchell broadcasts. Check their website to search their database:

NARA Motion Picture Films and Sound and Video Recordings: http://www.nara.gov/research/bymedia/mo_int.html#nail

...or contact them via e-mail at:

mopix@nara.gov

The cost for a copy, if available, will not be cheap. Programs in the NARA collection can, however, be listened to on-site if one is in the Washington D.C. area.
