| I have documentation of the Shady Valley Gang that ran on Mutual and originated at KWK in St. Louis. It's not listed in Dunning's book. Anyone have info? |

I've never heard of the "Shady Valley Gang", but Mutual had a sustaining series in the Midwest called "Shady Valley Folks" which aired (mostly regionally) from 1942 to 1947. It was usually a 15 minute show on the air 5 times a week. In the 1944-45 time frame, there was a Saturday night spin-off that ran an hour called "Shady Valley Jamboree." There are about nine audio copies of the former that have survived.

| It was apparently a group whose membership was fairly fluid. I have a postcard showing them as the "Gang" and production notes from KWK showing the "Jamboree" broadcasts in the evening, although the notes are from a weeknight and do not show a Mutual feed. The only tape I've found is from the 1/13/4 |
