I have a Bob Hope show in my small collection that was broadcast from Camp Wheeler, Macon, Georgia on 10-17-44. In the broadcast, someone mentions being in Milledgeville, Ga the previous week. I realize that Bob Hope shows are kinda scarce compared to other OTR, but does anyone out there know if the Milledgeville broadcast is available??? Also, did Mr. Hope and company usually stay in the vicinity from one week to another when the broadcasts were going to be in neighboring towns?? Or did they usually fly back to Hollywood to be with their families??

Hey--that's a good question(s)...all of them. There are indeed a number of BOB HOPE shows in circulation, including my collection. I don't have that one mentioned. But, does anyone know if the show came in..did the broadcast then the cast flew out of there immediately or stayed overnite in the local hotels?

...and...the funniest BOB HOPE show..? (I've been waiting for someone to add this to the board)....it has to be the "practice run-through" of the Christmas show where Hope breaks up at Bill Goodwin's character in a toy factory, along with the audience going crazy with laughter. Everytime I play this, I.. almost fall on the floor laughing!

Take a look at Bob's web site. www.bobhope.com
Too bad he doesn't have some of his radio shows for sale.

It is indeed too bad Hope has none of his shows for sale. I hope they're at least being properly cared for and have been transferred to tape. I'd hate to think of all those shows being lost because the transcriptions were allowed to deteriorate.
