Anyone have any hard info on the 1943 Sac Savage show? Like who played Doc. who wrote/ produced/ network? Anyone remember what year FOTR re-created it in NJ? I'd like to find a tape, as I'm doing the 1934 Green Ghost episode, followed by a brief talk in OCT.

There were actually two Doc Savage series. The first was a syndicated show (2/34 to 9/34) written by Lester Dent, based upon the pulp magazine hero. It was sponsored by Cystex and was a 15 minute show aired on Don Lee Network. The syndicated version ran until 1935 with same episodes.

It was on the air as a local show on WMCA in New York from 1-6-43 to 6-9-43 on Wednesday nights for 30 minutes. This show was written by Edward Gruskin and based upon the comic book of Doc Savage. Bernard Lenrow and Earl George headed the cast. They rebroadcast the last three episodes, taking it through 7-1-43.
