The program you were describing was DR. IQ. This program was heard on NBC(Red) and later NBC for Mars Almond Candy Bars and the Dr. IQ Candy Bar. The program would move to the ABC Radio Network for Embassy Cigarettes.
As for Mr. Anthony, that was John J. Anthony, who hosted THE GOOD WILL HOUR on Mutual and later NBC(Blue) for Ironized Yeast. He helped to solve problems of the people who came to him on the program. He was known for his catch phrase, "And that's my advice to you." Anthony would also host a 15 minute program on the Mutual Network for Arrid and Carter's Little Liver Pills. It was similar in format to THE GOOD WILL HOUR, except it was a 15 minute program. |
