A great not so old show from the BBC - I'm looking for any log type information including first/last show and any program titles which may be available.
Any info?? |

This show starred Kenneth Horne, aired in the early 1960s on the BBC. Ken was a bit like Jack Benny, I'd say, in that he played straight man to the crazy characters he surrounded himself with (like "Carry On" regular Kenneth Williams). The show was written by popeyed comic Marty Feldman. The show was eventially re-named "Around the Horne." The BBC has issued many episodes of both series on cassette, and imports can sometimes be found in the States.

| Beyond Our Ken spanned seven series (121 shows in all). First show 1st July 1958 & last 16th February 1964. Shows don't have specific titles & collectors seem to catalogue in different ways using either the opening phrases, musical interludes or specific regular items. I think you will find that Eric Merriman is generally credited with writing - Marty Feldman comes onto the scene for the later Round The Horne series. A search for 'Round The Horne' should find you logs for the show, but I'm not sure if the same applies to BOK: my info comes |
