| We aquired a ticket in perfect condition dated May 1937 that says "Grape Nuts" presents George Burns and Gracie Allen, National Broadcasting Company, Hollywood Studios, 5515 Melrose Avenue, Second Floor, Studio A.....We were wondering what the value of this would be. Can anyone help us out with where to find out this information? Thanks |

Hard to say what the value of this ticket would be, but as evidenced by radio magazines and other radio collectibles auctioned off on ebay, everything seems to have its price!
But, it should be worth something to somebody, since I think tickets to old-time radio shows would be quite rare today, since most people likely threw them away. And one in good condition would also be quite rare! I think I heard recently of a website that auctions off only old tickets to concerts, plays, radio and TV shows, sporting events, etc., but I can't recall the name of this website. Also interesting to me is that the address for this NBC show in '37 was 5515 Melrose Ave. in Hollywood, which was later the address of KHJ Radio and West Coast HQ of the Don Lee-Mutual network. (In 1937, KHJ was at 7th and Bixel Streets, atop the Don Lee building.) A year or so later, NBC would have brand new studios and offices in Hollywood at its new Hollywood Radio City complex at Sunset and Vine, torn down in 1964. |
