Seeking information on the singing group the Mellow Men, who appeared on some Roy Rogers' and Bergen-McCarthy shows in the 1950's. I have virtually nothing on them.

The Mello Men were Thurl Ravenscroft (bass), Maxwell Smith, Bill Lee, and Robert Hamlin. Thurl is best known as the voice of Tony the Tiger, and still lives (the last I heard) in Southern California. I believe the group was a spin-off of the Sportsmen, but I don't know the details. The quartet appeared frequestly on radio, TV, and records. An interesting bit of history: The singing tombstones in the Haunted House at Disneyland are the images and voices of the Mello Men! About a year ago, I found a dandy Web site with the history of the Mello Men.
